Carbonate mounds

Carbonate mound locations (data from JNCC & Freiwald et al, 2004).Numerous mounds have been already been discovered along the continental margin of the north Atlantic Ocean, with new mounds and provinces still being discovered at an amazing rate. The largest and most notable mounds occur in the Porcupine Seabight, the Rockall Trough, off Morocco, Mauritania and southeast Brazil.
